Central Valley Corvette Club Celebrates 4th of July Weekend At Arnold Meadowmont Lodge

Every Fourth of July, Arnold, California comes alive with patriotic celebrations, mountain adventures, and one of the community's favorite traditions—the Annual Fourth of July Parade.

This year, Arnold Meadowmont Lodge had the honor of hosting nearly 40 members of the Central Valley Corvette Club for an unforgettable holiday weekend that perfectly captured what makes Arnold such a special place to visit.

From scenic mountain drives and community celebrations to local partnerships and charitable giving, the weekend became much more than a club getaway—it became a celebration of community.

A Mountain Welcome

Members of the Central Valley Corvette Club arrived Friday afternoon after making the drive from California's Central Valley. To help everyone settle in after the summer heat, guests were welcomed with iced tea, fresh watermelon, and plenty of smiles before checking into their rooms.

As the evening cooled, everyone gathered on our covered patio for a casual meet-and-greet, where new friendships were formed and old ones reunited.

Dinner was catered by the incredible team at Bistro Espresso, serving slow-smoked pulled pork, brisket, and all the fixings. As the sun set behind the pines, guests relaxed around the fire pit, shared travel stories, and enjoyed the mountain atmosphere that makes Arnold Meadowmont Lodge feel less like a hotel and more like home.

Celebrating America's 250th Birthday in Arnold

Saturday morning began with excitement as the Central Valley Corvette Club proudly joined Arnold's Annual Fourth of July Parade.

The Corvettes—many decorated in patriotic red, white, and blue for America's 250th birthday celebration—were a crowd favorite as they cruised through downtown Arnold alongside local organizations, community groups, and first responders.

For many club members, participating in the parade became one of the highlights of the weekend and a wonderful way to experience the welcoming spirit of our mountain community.

Our First Coffee & Cars Event

After the parade festivities, Arnold Meadowmont Lodge hosted its very first Coffee & Cars, transforming our courtyard into a gathering place for car enthusiasts, local residents, and holiday visitors.

The aerial drone photos captured something truly special—dozens of Corvettes surrounding the lodge, creating a colorful display that showcased the classic and newest performance models.

Guests wandered from car to car, talking with owners, sharing stories, and enjoying fresh coffee while taking in one of the most unique automotive displays Arnold has seen.

Based on the overwhelming response, we're already looking forward to making Coffee & Cars an annual Fourth of July tradition.

Local Businesses Came Together

One of the most rewarding parts of the weekend was seeing so many local businesses come together to support the event.

Our Coffee & Cars guests enjoyed an incredible spread of pastries and baked goods generously donated by Binky Buns Bakery, along with refreshments provided by Big Trees Market and support from Paramount Real Estate & Property Management.

Their generosity helped create an event that felt welcoming, relaxed, and unmistakably local.

Supporting one another is what makes small mountain communities thrive, and we couldn't be more grateful for these partnerships.

Supporting the Arnold Rim Trail

Coffee & Cars wasn't just about beautiful automobiles—it was also about giving back.

The event helped raise awareness for the Arnold Rim Trail Association, whose volunteers work tirelessly to build and maintain one of Northern California's premier trail systems.

Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the trail network, meet volunteers, browse Arnold Rim Trail merchandise, and discover ways to support future trail development.

The partnership reflected something we deeply believe at Arnold Meadowmont Lodge: when visitors connect with our local nonprofits, businesses, and outdoor spaces, everyone benefits.

Memories That Will Last

Throughout the weekend, guests explored nearby mountain roads, enjoyed conversations under the gazebo, admired one another's Corvettes, and even left behind a special keepsake—a signed Corvette artwork commemorating the weekend together.

By Sunday afternoon, it was clear this wasn't simply a group reservation.

It had become a weekend of friendships, community connections, and memories that will bring everyone back together again.

Thank You

To every member of the Central Valley Corvette Club—thank you for choosing Arnold Meadowmont Lodge as your Fourth of July home.

To Bistro Espresso, Binky Buns Bakery, Big Trees Market, Paramount Real Estate & Property Management, the Arnold Rim Trail Association, and everyone who stopped by Coffee & Cars—thank you for helping create something truly special.

This weekend reminded us why we love being part of the Arnold community.

We aren't simply a place to stay.

We're a place where people gather.

Whether you're planning a Corvette club tour, motorcycle rally, corporate retreat, hiking club adventure, family reunion, or mountain getaway, we'd love to help make your next visit unforgettable.

Long before Bear welcomed guests with a wagging tail, another friendly face greeted visitors arriving at Arnold Meadowmont Lodge. Sitting proudly beneath our front entrance is a hand-carved Saint Bernard, created by renowned Northern California wood sculptor Miles Tucker in the early 1980s. For more than four decades, this sculpture has quietly welcomed travelers from around the world and has become an enduring part of the lodge's history. The story behind the carving is what makes it truly special. The owners of Meadow Mont Lodge at the time had a beloved Saint Bernard who became known as the lodge greeter. Guests were welcomed not only by the mountain air and towering pines, but also by this gentle dog whose friendly personality left a lasting impression on everyone who visited. Wanting to preserve the memory of their faithful companion, they commissioned a young wood sculptor named Miles Tucker to carve the Saint Bernard from a single log. Today, the sculpture remains at the lodge, continuing the tradition of greeting guests just as the real dog once did. For those familiar with Arnold, Tucker's work is woven throughout the community. As you travel along Highway 4, you'll find several of his iconic carvings that have become local landmarks. The impressive grizzly bear standing outside the Grizzly Bear Gas Station and the welcoming bear at Giant Burger are both examples of his craftsmanship. Together, these sculptures have become part of Arnold's unique mountain character, greeting visitors just as they have for generations. Over the years, Miles Tucker's work has gained recognition throughout California and beyond. His carvings are known for their expressive personalities and lifelike detail, and his later career has expanded into bronze sculpture. Yet some of his most cherished creations remain right here in the Sierra, where locals and visitors pass them every day. Our Saint Bernard is more than a piece of art. It represents the hospitality that has defined Arnold Meadowmont Lodge for decades. While today's guests are often greeted by our black Labrador, Bear, this wooden Saint Bernard reminds us that welcoming visitors has always been at the heart of this place. As we begin sharing the stories of Arnold's past through our Arnold History Project , we're honored to preserve the history of not only our lodge but also the artists, businesses, and people who helped shape this mountain community. The next time you visit Arnold Meadowmont Lodge, stop for a photo with our Saint Bernard. You're standing beside a small piece of Arnold history—one that has been welcoming guests for more than forty years.
